6th Regular Meeting

The last meeting of the July-September quarter was held in Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday September 23, 2024 at 7.00 pm and presided over by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. Meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem.
In the said meeting the president briefed the participants about the agenda of the meeting. Minutes of meeting of the last BOD held on 12-9-2024 shared with the house. House approved the minutes unanimously. The venue of regular meetings (Marriott Hotel) as approved by BOD was ratified by the House.

First Regular RCIM Meeting & Polio Awareness Seminar

Ms. Farkhanda J. Andrabi served as the Master of Ceremonies, while Shabbir Malik, President of RCIM, delivered the welcome address and informed the audience that 39 polio cases have been reported so far this year. He emphasized the need to intensify awareness initiatives to reduce refusal rates and encourage people to choose vaccination over hesitation. Ms. Tayaba Gull, in her presentation, highlighted the significant role of Rotarians in polio prevention and awareness while Mr. Zia Ur Rehman, Media Head at UNICEF, gave the keynote presentation, emphasizing the ongoing efforts and challenges in combating polio. On the occasion Prof. Dr. Amir Waheed Butt, HOD at STMU, spoke about the long-term effects of polio on survivors. Other key contributors included Nosherwan Khalil Khan, Zonal Coordinator Rotary District 63, and Dr. Tauseef, Dean of STMU.

2nd Regular RCIM Meeting of October 2024

2nd regular meeting of October 2024 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday October 28, 2024 at 5.15 pm, Meeting was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. Meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem. On behalf of all club members, President welcomed Dr. Irfan Ullah Kundi a renowned Eye Specialist/surgeon of the country. Dr Irfan has formally joined today as regular member of Rotary club of Islamabad Metropolitan. Dr Irfan was called on stage for presentation of Rotary Pin and Membership certificate. President invited Dr Irfan Ullah Kundi (Renowned Eye Specialist / Surgeon) for a brief presentation on the topic of "Eye Screening from Birth Till Death". Dr. Irfan given a detailed presentation emphasizing how to protect your eyes from different diseases. Dr Sahab guided the audience about preventive measures to protect your eyes. Dr. Irfan also offered all the members of RCIM to have a free checkup of eyes once a year from his clinic at G-10/3, Main Service Road, Islamabad. Meeting was closed with vote of thanks by Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed Secretary RCIM followed by Group Photo.

First Regular RCIM Meeting of November 2024 &
Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar

The 1st regular meeting of November 2024 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday November 11, 2024 at 5.15 pm with a Seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness. Meeting / Seminar was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. President invited Dr. Saeeda Yasmin, for her presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness. Dr Saeeda emphasized the critical importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer. She explained that regular screening is essential to catch breast cancer in its earliest stages when treatment is most effective. Dr. Saeeda recommended that women undergo screening methods like ultrasound and mammography, particularly for those over the age of 40. She further explained that breast cancers in women between the ages of 20 and 50 tend to be more aggressive, making prompt diagnosis and treatment even more vital. Dr. Saeeda highlighted that, if detected at stages one or two, there is a high likelihood that breast tissue can be preserved. She encouraged women to prioritize regular check-ups and to be proactive about their breast health, as early intervention can make a significant difference in outcomes. Meeting was closed with vote of thanks by Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed Secretary RCIM followed by presentation of RCIM flag to Guest Speaker and Group Photo.

2nd Regular RCIM Meeting of November 2024

2nd regular meeting of November 2024 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Farmhouse of Rtn. Sadaf Khalid Khan at Swabi on Saturday November 30, 2024 at 12.15 pm followed by a sumptuous lunch hosted by Rtn. Sadaf Khalid Khan. A Group of RCIM members lead by President RCIM Rtn. Shabbir Malik along with their families travelled from Islamabad to Swabi through a Coaster am 11 AM and reached at the venue at 12:30 pm.

Seminar on "Peace and Harmony"

The 1st regular meeting of December 2024 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday December 09, 2024 at 5.15 pm with a Seminar on Peace & Harmony. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Government of Punjab was the Chief Guest and PDG Masrur J. Shaikh participated as Guest of Honour at the Seminar. In his opening speech, President RCIM extended a very warm welcome to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. He said, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora being very active Minister of Punjab Cabinet, a very busy businessman and a very popular leader of Sikh Community, spared time for our Seminar is mean a lot to us. He said regarding today's Seminar that Rotary International has 7 major focus areas to work worldwide and top of the list priority number one area is Promoting Peace in the World. He further added that our beloved Homeland is in dire need of Peace and Harmony. Past District Governor Masroor J. Sheikh also addressed the audience, lauding the Rotary Club's role in fostering societal harmony. Addressing the seminar as a Chief Guest, Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Government of Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, emphasized Pakistan's commitment to peace and its true image as a peace-loving nation. "It is our responsibility to highlight Pakistan's true identity to the world," he stated. Sharing his observations about Sikh pilgrims who visited Pakistan recently, he said, "When these Sikh pilgrims were leaving Pakistan during their recent visit to Pakistan, they chanted slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality they received from the people of Pakistan. He further highlighted that the rights of minorities in Pakistan are at par with those in any other nation. On the occasion Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora commended the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan for its efforts to promote peace and unity and underscored the importance of inclusive development. "To build a harmonious and prosperous nation, we must include everyone in our journey of progress," he added. Secretary of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed also spoke at the event, reinforcing the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence for national development. Meeting was closed with vote of thanks followed by presentation of shield to Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Group Photo was taken.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) of
Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan

Annual General Meeting of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday December 23, 2024 at 5.00 pm, Meeting was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. After welcome note by President, participating members were counted to ensure the required quorum. After announcement of the agenda of AGM, President invited IPP Dr. Azra Yasmin to present the Minutes of last AGM 2023-24 which were adopted by the House. She also presented her Annual Report with detailed Summary of activities and achievements for the Rotary Year 2023-24. President RCIM Shabbir Malik presented his 6 months progress report i.e. July to December 2024. As per Summary of 6 months activities and achievements for the current Rotary Year 2024-25; 20 Service Projects delivered in 6 months, 7 Board meetings and 12 regular meeting were held as per Schedule submitted to Rotary District 63 Leadership, 7 Seminars / events were organized in 6 months, 6 fellowship gatherings were arranged within and outside Islamabad in last 6 months, 5 new members were inducted in RCIM during October & December 2024., US$ 730 were contributed to Rotary Foundation & US$ 405 donated to RI PolioPlus Fund Then President invited RCIM Treasurer Mian Shaukat Masood to present the RCIM final audited accounts for the year 2023-24. Treasurer RCIM presented the Accounts to the House for approval. RCIM House unanimously approved the final accounts for year 2023-24 and also approved the appointment of external auditor “The Consultants, Fazle Haq Road, Blue Area Islamabad” as an independent auditor for RC Islamabad Metropolitan for the Year 2024-25. President RCIM presented the name of Rtn. Muhammad Arif as President Nominee for Rotary Year 2026-27 which was unanimously endorsed and approved by the House. President RCIM invited President Elect Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed to present his Board of Directors for the Year 2025-26. To acknowledge the services of Dr. Malik Ashraf Hameed in the field of Education & Literacy, the House unanimously proposed that a lifetime position should be created in Board of RCIM for him as Literacy Projects Chair. So, Literacy Projects Chair was included in the current Board and in upcoming as well. Dr. Malik Ashraf Hameed will hold this for the lifetime as recommended by the House. Annual General Meeting was closed with vote of thanks by Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed Secretary RCIM followed by Group Photo.

1st Regular RCIM Meeting of January 2025

First regular meeting of January 2025 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Gosha e Mashal, Margalla Town, Islamabad on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 11.15 am followed by Hi-Tea hosted by Principal Mashal School. A Group of RCIM members lead by President RCIM Rtn. Shabbir Malik along with Mashraf Hameed Sb, Mian Shaukat Masood Sb, Dr. Shamim Zaidi and Madam Fauzia Nasreen visited Gosha e Mashal and met with Management. A detailed visit of Gosha e Mashal was arranged by the Principal for RCIM delegation. We discussed various project which RCIM and Gosha e Mashal can jointly undertake. At the RCIM was requested by the Management of Gosha e Mashal for donation of Sewing Machines, Multi Media Projector with screen and Science Lab equipment. With the approval of BOD, RCIM provided 12 Sewing Machines to Gosha-e-Mashal with contribution of Members.

2nd Regular RCIM Meeting with Annual Event

The 2nd regular meeting of January 2025 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday January 20, 2025 at 6.45 pm with the Annual Event of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan. Meeting / Event Titled “RCIM Celebrating 2025 with Passion of Service Above Self” was presided by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi as Chief Guest. Adviser RIPSA PDG Masrur J. Scheik was Guest of Honour, Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM and Secretary RCIM Adm. Shahid Saeed were also present on the stage. Event was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem.
Rtn. Sadaf Khalid was host of the event. First, she invited President Shabbir Malik for welcome address. President welcomed the Chief Guest and all participants. President shown a video documentary to the audience regarding 6 months progress of RCIM Then She invited PDG Masrur Shaikh for his address. Before speech of Chief Guest Sadaf invited Ms. Farkhanda J. Andrabi for introduction of Governor KPK. After introduction She invited Chief Guest to address the audience.
A sumptuous dinner was arranged for the guests followed by music. A renowed singer Ms. Sana Nehmet was invited at the ceremony as singer .

1st Regular RCIM Meeting of February 2025

1st regular meeting of February 2025 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Farmhouse of President RCIM Shabbir Malik at Village Shah Rai Bahadar, Tehsil Fateh Jang on Saturday February 15, 2025 at 2 pm followed by Desi Food lunch hosted by Rtn. Shabbir Malik. A Group of RCIM members lead by President RCIM Rtn. Shabbir Malik travelled from Islamabad to Shah Rai Bahadar and reached at the venue at 1:30 pm.
It was a great experience for all RCIM members to visit the farmhouse of Rtn. Shabbir Malik located at Village Shah Rai Bahadar, Tehsil Fateh Jang, District Attock. A delicious lunch with desi organic food was served followed by deserts (Halwa) with Tea. After lunch and Tea Rotary delegation departed back at 4 pm and reached Islamabad at 5:00 pm. President RCIM paid a special thanks to all Rotarians who visited his Farmhouse on lunch.

The 2nd regular meeting of February 2025 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday February 24, 2025 at 5.00 pm. Rtn. Azhar Zia Ur Rehman a very renowned and certified E-Governance, AI & Cybersecurity expert, Author of the first ever book on Technology Governance, a veteran Rotarian and very active member of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was the Guest Speaker. He spoke on the topic of “Bringing the Fourth Industrial Revolution to Pakistan". Meeting was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. President Nominee Rtn. Muhammad Arif was invited by President Shabbir Malik to join on stage as Club Secretary R/Adm. Shahid Saeed was not present in this meeting. Meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem. After National Anthem, President RCIM invited Guest Speaker Rtn. Azhar Zia Ur Rehman to join on stage. President requested all participants to introduce themselves as new members of RCIM & Satellite Club along with two guests i,e. Mr. Naveed Kareem Income Tax Commissioner FBR, Islamabad and Dr. Ishaq Qureshi attended the meeting.

2nd Regular Meeting of RCIM was held at Iran Avenue near Sector E-11, Islamabad on March 20, 2025 at tree plantation drive initiated by the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan in Islamabad to realize the dream of a clean and green Capital of Islamabad, which was inaugurated by Director General Environment CDA Ms. Nazia Ibrar. Hundreds of big size Kachnar saplings were planted in colaboration with CDA. At the event The Director General Environment CDA Ms. Nazia Ibrar praised the efforts of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan and called it a wonderful initiative toward the protection of the environment and said that Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan always stood along CDA in making Islamabad clean and green.

Meeting / Eid Millian Dinner & 38th Anniversary of RCIM with Music was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. Meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem. President RCIM extended a very warm welcome to all participants of Today’s meeting. He paid special thanks to PDG Masrur Shaikh, PDG Faiza Qamar, PP Nosherwan Khalil Khan and all Rotarians who joined from other clubs. While speaking to the participants of Eid Millan & 38th Anniversary of RCIM, PDG. Masrur J. Shaikh lauded the services of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan. He said that RCIM always delivered excellent project by making life easier of the underserved communities. PDG Madam Faiza Qamar while addressing to the audience said that Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan is a very active and shinning club of the District 63 having largest membership. RCIM always plays a leading role in the whole district 63. In his speech Zonal Coordinator PP Nosherwan Khalil Khan appreciated the leadership role of Rtn. Shabbir Malik President RCIM. He said President Shabbir Malik leading the Club very actively and delivering very impactful service projects to the community.

Meeting / Event Titled “Meet & Greet With RIPSA & Team” was presided by Rotary International President’s Special Adviser (RIPSA) PDG Pubudu De Zoysa as Chief Guest. Adviser RIPSA PDG Masrur J. Scheik, PDG Barrister Adnan Saboor Rohaila, Rotarian Krish from Rotary Club of Colombo and Zonal Coordinator PP Nosherwan Khalil Khan were Guests of Honour. Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM and Secretary RCIM Adm. Shahid Saeed were also present at the stage. Event was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem of Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The 1st regular meeting of June 2025 of Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan was held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on Monday June 16, 2025 at 5.30 pm. Meeting was presided by Rtn. Shabbir Malik, President RCIM. Meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by National Anthem. This was the last fellowship meeting of RCIM at the end of current Rotary Year i.e. 2024-25. President welcomed all fellow Rotarians in the meeting. Meeting was held without Guest Speaker with the purpose that all members will have internal discussion. President 2024-25 appreciated the cooperation extended to him by all fellow Rotarians especially the Board Member during the whole Rotary Year. (2024-25)
